AB Dick will be highlighting the automation of plate production at Drupa 2004.

AB Dick will be highlighting the automation of plate production at Drupa 2004.

The company is focusing on its Digital Platemaster range of CTP devices, many of which are tried and tested with over 3,500 installations worldwide.

The range satisfies the needs of small, medium and large volume users for spot colour and process work up to 175lpi in all sizes up to SRA2, said the company.

Like many other suppliers, AB Dick will also be turning its attention to chemistry free media options.

The Freedom Plate, previewed at Graph Expo last year, will be one of the key production plates on the stand.

The thermal metal plate needs no chemistry in its production - only a simple wash with water.

AB Dick will be demonstrating how the platesetter and press combination with the software that links them together can work seamlessly through the process.

AB Dick also said that its SRA3 9995 press that will be shown now has levels of automation only seen on large format presses at DRUPA 2000 and it has the ability to accept pre-press data from the platesetter.

For the first time on its stand at Drupa, the company will be showing its four colour Titan (B452A-I) in combination with one of the DPM range of platesetters, demonstrating that a set of four plates can be hung in register in under four minutes.

With a CIP3/4 file sent to press, the company cliams it can be running and up to colour in less than 50 sheets, with 1,000 sheets off in less than ten minutes.

The AB Dick stand at Drupa will be in hall 403, stand B52.
