A B Dick and KBA will launch the 46 Karat Plus on the UK market at the Digital Print World exhibition.

A B Dick and KBA will launch the 46 Karat Plus to the UK market at the Digital Print World exhibition.

The key change on this press compared to the older version is the introduction of the improved Presstek Excel imaging head that is claimed to offer a much smaller laser spot size.

The advantage of the head is the ability to increase the line resolution up to 300 lines per inch (lpi).

"Results we have seen from this in conjunction with the latest Eclipse release of the Harlequin RIP are stunning.

In addition to the standard screening we can offer FM screening on the press too.

It's been around for a long time but printing of FM has always been the problem not imaging of it.

The Karat Plus prints it beautifully primarily because it is waterless," remarked Ray Hillhouse, UK General Manager for A B Dick.

Presstek has also launched a new version of the plate material for the Karat - Pearldry Plus.

The new material works in conjunction with the Excel imaging head to deliver the consistently high quality results the press is capable of claimed A B Dick.

"We've been delighted with the Karat since we took on its distribution from KBA at DPW last year it's been a great program for us.

The introduction of the new press will carry on opening up new opportunities for us in this sector," said Hillhouse.
