ACC HSH Group from Poland and Founder Electronics of China have agreed to expand their technology co-operation.

ACC HSH Group from Poland and Founder Electronics of China have agreed to expand their technology co-operation.

The EagleRIP software created by Founder has already been implemented in the Puzzleflow workflow system developed by ACC HSH Group and now ACC HSH's PDF Preflighter and PDF Trapper, have been integrated in the new release of Founder's Elecroc workflow software, whcih will be shown for the first time at Ipex.

Founder Electronics provides digital cross-media systems for pre-press, printing, publishing, the internet and digital media.

Under the OEM agreement, Elecroc workflow will offer ACC HSH Group's PDF preflighting (PDF Preflighter) and automatic trapping (PDF Trapper) modules.

PDF Preflighter is a part of the Puzzleflow workflow system that is said to offer over 100 options for PDF files verification.

The options cover typical pre-flighting features, such as RGB colour space usage, image resolution and font presence, for instance, as well as those required for advanced workflow systems, such as trapping notifications, job tickets and digital signatures.

Andrzej Czyz, a partner in the ACC HSH Group, said: "Each inspected PDF feature, depending on specific needs, can be checked for its presence or absence and the result of the verification process can be reported as an error, warning, or simply notification characteristics.

The output report contains complete information about processed files, including error statistics.

The report can be saved as XML so its files can be easily converted in to HTML, PDF or another file formats." PDF Trapper is one of the high-end modules of the Puzzleflow workflow, which was launched by ACC HSH Group in 2001.

Last year the company introduced a new, more sophisticated version of Puzzleflow.

PDF Trapper utilises native PDF vector trapping technology, meaning that all traps are applied without prior rasterisation of processed documents.

The module performs object to object, object to image and image to image trapping and can use distinct settings for selected regions of source pages (zonal trapping).

PDF Trapper can handle up to 12 spot colourants recognising them as normal, opaque, transparent or ignored inks, said the company.

Marcin Streszewski, an ACC HSH partner, commented: "Advanced features include rich black support, sliding traps, various trap line mitering and trap joins.

PDF Trapper handles all complex objects, such as smooth shading objects, type1, type1 compact and True Type composite fonts and overprinted colours.

The module recognises trapping information from a job ticket accompanying the processed job." Weisman Jia Wen Hua, G]the general manager of Founder Electronics International Business Division, added: "We are excited to work with ACC HSH Group to integrate leading-edge technologies in to our workflow products for the pre-press industry.

We expect to grow our relationship with ACC HSH Group to develop new technologies that each company will use to deliver exciting products to our customers." Andrzej Czyz of ACC HSH Group observed: "We are very glad that our co-operation with Founder Electronics, established at the last Drupa, is developing.

On one hand our flagship product, the Puzzleflow workflow system, has been upgraded with the EagleRIP module from Founder Electronics.

On the other hand our PDF Preflighter and PDF Trapper, have been implemented as an option in the Elecroc workflow system from Founder.".
