The UK division of on-line media and internet company AOL has appointed print management and business communications company, Accessplus, as its UK print management provider The print management contract, outsourced by AOL's UK operation for the first time, will run for a period of three years

The contract covers the full range of AOL UK's marketing print requirements including point-of-sale (POS) and direct customer communications.

In addition, Accessplus will also manage a range of business communication services, including customer data and response management, as well as taking responsibility for the logistics and fulfilment requirements of AOL UK's customer promotions on a day-to-day basis.

Jason Cromack, Accessplus's chief executive officer, said: "This contract is a huge win for Accessplus and the result of many months of hard work by a dedicated pitch team that included members of our business development, production, vendor management and marketing logistics divisions.

A major factor in the win was our ability to offer a full business service from the management of AOL UK's print, right through to our logistics, fulfilment and data and response management facilities." And he added: "It's yet another indication that the business strategy we have worked so hard to develop and refine over the past two years is paying dividends and is right for the market." Cromack explained that the AOL UK contract followed a number of significant contract wins in the last few months and Accessplus is very excited about what it now has the opportunity to do for AOL UK.

He continued: "Moving forward, we'll be employing best practise and proven procurement technologies to create strong, sustainable efficiencies in its print management and business communication processes." Cromack explained: "AOL UK said it was very impressed with our approach throughout the pitch process and the fact we worked hard to provide print management services and understand AOL's culture.

We were very proactive and provided additional points for consideration throughout the whole process.

As this was the first time AOL UK had outsourced the management of its print, we wanted to ensure it was comfortable with the concept and clearly understood what was involved." He said that Accessplus took the time to understand the AOL business and its culture and it was confident that its approach was a key reason for its success.

Chris Davis, director of marketing operations at AOL UK, said Accessplus offered AOL UK the right combination of price, service and account management to meet its specific requirements and the new appointment will help AOL UK to create much greater efficiencies in its print management process.

He commented: "I'm confident of a successful partnership with Accessplus, which is the result of a detailed review of our print requirements.

I feel it's the right moment to take this step of outsourcing our print production and believe Accessplus is the right partner with which to continue our work.".
