Adare Retains Place In Top 250 Companies

An Adare product story

With a placement in the UK's Sunday Times HSBC Top Track 250, print group Adare believes it has secured recognition for its re-organisation and re-alingment.

It is the second consecutive year that Adare has been included in the Sunday Times HSBC Top Track 250, with the company ranked at 231.

Mel Egglenton, of KPMG, said in his Sunday Times article about the awards: "It is clear that the leaders of Top Track 250 businesses are not afraid to initiate change to drive their ambitions forward." He added: "All the businesses in the Top Track 250 will have overcome many challenges and celebrated countless achievements to earn their rank in this listing but I am sure many will already have their sights set on delivering the growth needed to see their company ranked higher or enter the Top Track 100 soon." Robert Whiteside, Adare's chief executive officer, commented: "Since our HBOS-backed management buy-out last year, we have disposed of four companies that were no longer aligned to the marketing and customer communications proposition that we are now providing to our clients internationally.

Whilst our position in the Top 250 may have slipped slightly because of our disposal strategy we have fundamentally changed the direction of the business from a group of fairly disparate print-based businesses to a single integrated communications services provider that has creative services, data services and systems, e-sourcing and multi-media communications at its core." And he explained: "We will continue to evolve our services to ensure that we are perfectly placed to meet our clients' marketing and customer communications needs.

In the last year we have significantly expanded our international presence, invested heavily in expanding our multi-media communications centre and the creation of a suite of e-commerce tools that are genuinely changing the way our clients communicate with their customers." Whiteside also said that Adare is finalising its investment plans for the next 12 months and some of the options it is considering would allow it to expand the range of services.

He added that he believed that Adare's ranking in the Top Track 250 is proof of the strength of what it offers.

Alice James, speaking for The Sunday Times, said: "Regardless of their ownership or industry, the Top Track 250 illustrates that Britain's private mid-market businesses can move with the times to grow and remain strong." Top Track 250, sponsored by HSBC, is compiled and published by Fast Track in association with The Sunday Times and recognises Britain's top-performing private companies and the entrepreneurs who own and run them.
