UK company Adare is recognising the achievements of 15 employees this month who have dedicated over 40 years' service to the business and devoted a lifetime to print communications.

One hundred employees of the 1,000-strong Adare team have achieved over 20 years, service, totalling 3,500 years with the marketing and customer communications materials provider.

Robert Stephenson and Brian Barker started as apprentices in the early 1960s.

Brian left school when he was 15 years-old and started a new career with then family run firm, Hirst Buckley.

He now works as a computer compositor, a position that did not even exist when he first embarked on his career.

He said: "I have stayed at Adare for so long as I simply really enjoy the job.

I feel very lucky to have spent my whole career with an employer that has given me the opportunity to develop and grow along with the business.

I have seen the company change so much in the last 44 years and with Adare at the helm I am looking forward to further growth and expansion in the coming years.

I'm certainly not ready to leave the industry just yet." Robert Stephenson started with the company in 1968 after completing his CSEs.

He trained part-time at Kitson College in Leeds and worked in the collating department.

He commented: "When I first started working in the industry I remember the job being highly labour intensive and physically exhausting but this has now changed with welcome advances in technology.

I have seen so many changing faces over the years but the company has always remained a great employer.

Even after 40 years I see the business going from strength to strength and reacting swiftly to changes in the industry.

The future with Adare is an exciting prospect." Robert Whiteside, Adare's chief executive officer, added: "Our employees are a credit to the company.

The loyalty demonstrated across the business is outstanding and not only proves that staff are dedicated to working together to provide the best knowledge, skill and service in the industry, but also that they enjoy what they do and achieve on a daily basis.".
