A full suite of Agfa products from digital printers and proofers to platesetters has enabled Democrat Printing to streamline operations to meet demand and accelerate job turn-around time, without sacrificing quality or service.

Democrat, a full-service web printer, specialises in printing corporate magazines and catalogues and it had outgrown its pre-press equipment.

The Agfa product suite it installed also included the Delano web-based project management system and ApogeeX, Agfa's PDF-based workflow management system.

As a result, Democrat Printing has enhanced its automation efforts and cut two days off every job.

It also improved customer service as clients can now access job proofs via a web portal and see the same thing as the customer representatives in real-time.

Data entry is also minimised by entering data directly in to Delano, thereby decreasing preparation time and reducing errors, added Agfa.
