Programmable Card Creaser At Digital Print Show
Stand G4 at Digital Print World will see Ashgate Automation launch two products built specifically for the digital market.
Stand G4 at Digital Print World will see Ashgate Automation launch two products built specifically for the digital market.
Ashgate and manufacturer KAS Paper Systems have developed the new Crease Matic 150 programmable card creaser.
Using a creasing rule and matrix digitally printed card can be creased before folding, preventing damage to the toner or ink on the digitally printed sheet.
The Crease Matic 150 is stream-fed by hand at around 2,000 sheets per hour.
The sheet is fed into the input rollers, after which the program controls the creasing position.
Up to four creases can be made on each sheet as it passes through the machine and into the stacker tray claimed Ashgate.
It has a reversible matrix tool offering two widths of crease.
Mobile, the Crease Matic 150 can be wheeled away when not in use and is designed to appeal to the short to medium run digital printer.
With a wide choice of suction feed models on the market at around £8,000 according to Ashgate, the new Crease Matic 150 priced at £3,995, will fill the current gap in the market.
Ashgate will also be showing the latest Fastbind Elite, short-run perfect binder.
The new Elite model is based on the successful Fastbind Secura launched at Ipex.
The Elite features a spine roughener that exposes the fibres of the sheets for glue adhesion, allowing a wider range of stock to be bound.
The Elite can bind books with both soft card covers and hard-back covers and it also edge-glues note pads if required.
It is priced at £2,450.
Also being shown at the exhibition will be the latest Kasfold Sprint 3000 booklet maker with on-line fore-edge trimmer.
Priced at £7,390, the Kasfold and trimmer is said to be a popular choice with digital printers.
The latest Sprint 3000 model has many newly designed internal changes, which virtually eliminate marking on digitally printed stocks it is claimed.
Ashgate will also be showing the Horizon P330 fully automatic suction feed folding machine.
The user just has to select the sheet size and style of fold on the control panel and the P330 will set itself in seconds.
It is claimed to be one of the quietest suction folders on the market.
Easy access is provided to the fold plates and fold rollers for cleaning.
Ashgate is an agent for the Ideal range of programmable guillotines.
The SRA3 4850EP model is designed for digital printers and has features such as illuminated line of cut, step and repeat function, nine step memories for regular work and powerful auto clamping and cutting up to an 8cm pile.
The Rentz DTP 340M wire punch and binder is claimed to be popular with digital printers, with lift-out interchangeable dies, one machine can punch 2:1, 3:1, round and square holes.
