When Herts and Essex Printing opened its new digital printing arm, Herts and Essex Digital, it selected Ashgate Automation to equip its digital finishing department with a Crease Matic 150 card creaser and a Kasfold Sprint 3000 booklet-maker "Although our litho printing company has five Heidelberg platens and a Muller binding line, we didn't have dedicated digital equipment, which was suitable for finishing short run, fast turn-around colour jobs printed on the Indigo 3050 digital press," explained Ian Turness, a director of Herts and Essex Digital

Ashgate Automation will be exhibiting the KAS Crease Matic 150 programmable card creaser and the Kasfold Sprint 3000 bookletmaker on the KAS Paper Systems' stand - F20, hall 2.
"What appealed to us about the Crease Matic and the Kasfold were their speed of set up and ease of operation.
We have skilled print finishers in our litho company but the digital finishing equipment is being used by everybody with minimal training," added Turness.
Ashgate installed the equipment and Herts and Essex Digital was in production the next day.
"From a capital investment point of view, it is relatively low cost but it is certainly proving its worth very quickly," commented Turness.
