A KAS Crease Matic 150 digital creaser completes the investments, which also includes a Kasfold Sprint 3000 bookletmaker with on-line trimmer a G-Whiz 6000 numberer, a Foldmaster 235 folder and a Slimvac collator.

"We keep coming back to Ashgate because its service is excellent," said Helen Koudis, Scunthorpe Instant Print's managing director.

She added: "I've had my eye on the Crease Matic for some time.

We've been using a hand creaser, which was slow and made our arms ache, particularly if we were creasing longer run jobs.

It was very tedious to pre-crease a typical job of 2,000 sheets by hand and took so long.

We can now stream feed the sheets in to the Crease Matic and finish it in just over an hour." The company provides a full range of print for local businesses and has seen an increased demand for brochures and booklets, which have to be pre-creased.

And Koudis explained: "It's very quick and easy to set, just for a few copies or a run of several thousand and the quality of the fold is much better.

We've used it every day since it has been installed to crease card and coated stock, which has been printed either on our Ryobi two colour presses or on the Xerox colour digital printer.

However we don't have sufficiently high volumes to warrant the investment in a high volume, fully automated creaser." The Crease Matic CM 150 has been designed for the short to medium run digital print market to fill the gap between desk-top card creasers and the fully automatic suction feed models currently available, said Ashgate.

With its compact footprint, the CM 150 is said to be capable of delivering quick and reliable creasing results at around half the cost of the current auto feed models on the market.
