Allied Images has been appointed as UK and Ireland distributor for the Mutoh Drafstation series of CAD inkjet printers.

Designed for CAD and mapping applications, Drafstation is claimed to also provide photographic-quality prints at up to 2,880 dots per inch (dpi).
Allied Images, which said it has many years experience in supplying the CAD, GIS and design and print markets, sees many opportunities for Drafstation as a fast, high-quality, large-format printer.
The company also pointed to the synergy between Drafstation printers and Colortrac's SmartLF series scanners, for which Allied Images is the exclusive UK distributors, enabling it to offer multi-function printers.
Drafstation RJ-900 is 42" (A0+) wide and incorporates a wide model print head (four-colour sections, 360 nozzles per colour) claimed the company.
Drafstation is said to provide drawings with line sharpness and photographic-quality images with continuous tones, smooth transitions and a wide colour gamut.
Offering various print resolutions for different applications, Drafstation is also claimed to provide high speed 360dpi A0-size output in 91 seconds, making it the fastest CAD printer currently on the market, it is claimed.
The CMYK printer is delivered with special black pigmented ink, offering UV stability and enabling the production of draft plots on low-cost media.
The company claimed that Drafstation is easy to install, comes with both a Windows system driver and a dedicated AutoCAD HDI driver, and offers operator friendliness.
Steve Morin, the managing director of Allied Images, said "Allied has been selling scanning and imaging systems for almost 18 years.
By adding Mutoh's Drafstation to our product range we will be able to provide a competitively-priced large format printer that can outperform its competition.
Also, we will offer scan-to-print and fully-featured large format digital copy systems for documents up to 42" width.".
