Allied Images, suppliers of large format scanning systems, has appointed Mallon Technology of Cookstown, Northern Ireland, as an accredited reseller.
It is claimed to be designed to provide scans, copies or file distribution of A1 (D-size) large format photographs, satellite images, artwork, graphic designs, posters and any other documents that that contain fine image detail and require full colour or monochrome image capture.
The high resolution CCD scanners are priced very competitively with the monochrome scanner retailing at just under GBP3,500, said Allied Images.
The company believes that will provide large format imaging for customers that have previously outsourced their scanning and copying jobs or, which have been limited by inability to justify the purchase based on cost.

Gx 25 scanners are said to be designed to provide scanning and copying for users that need to archive, reproduce or distribute information and images contained in large documents.
Capable of scanning up to 25-inch wide images, Gx 25 will also capture the finest details of maps, engineering drawings, blueprints, site plans, architectural renderings and other technical documents in monochrome or colour at resolutions from 100dpi up to 9,600dpi, added Allied Images.
Original images can be captured from media from 6", up to 35" wide, by any length.
The GxT versions provide motorised thick media scanning of mounted originals up to 0.8" (20mm) thickness.
Colortrac managing director, Graham Tinn, said: "The SmartLF Gx 25 is the second Colortrac product to feature our innovative, miniaturised digital camera unit (DCU) 1,200dpi CCD imaging technology.
The SmartLF Gx scanners position Colortrac as the only large format scanner manufacturer to offer both CIS and CCD based scanners.
Access to both of these allows our customers to choose the best scanners for their applications whilst benefiting from the SmartLF philosophy of high quality, good performance and excellent value for money." There are three versions of the SmartLF Gx 25 scanner - monochrome, colour and express colour.
Any model can be upgraded on-site by return email, allowing customers to buy the right scanner for their current project with the peace of mind that they can enhance the scanner should the need arise, added the company.
Allied Images managing director, Steve Morin, commented: "The very competitive price of the entry-level SmartLF Gx 25 will give many companies who have previously outsourced their scanning and copying jobs an opportunity to bring the work in-house.".
