The acquisition of Autotype means that MacDermid will have $0.75 billion sales focused in the printing, electronics and industrial finishing markets around the world.
In the printing industry MacDermid supplies offset blanket, flexo plates and Colorspan ink jet printers and supplies.
Peter Levinsohn, the chief executive of Autotype reflected on MacDermid's attitude to its customers: "Our 'can do' philosophy mirrors that of MacDermid, which is focused on providing products that help customers become more successful.

Autotype has won Queen's Awards for its developments.
Autotype's sales of around £50m are spread around the world with the two largest markets being the USA and China.
