The Vale of Belvoir, located in the heart of England, is a rural beauty spot, and home to a range of naturally made fresh fruit and flower drinks - Belvoir Cordials The fresh fruits and flowers that go in to Belvoir Cordials are grown on Belvoir Fruit Farms, and pressed and mixed with local spring water in small batches to ensure the best possible flavour and quality

And when it comes to packaging, Belvoir Fruit Farms looked to complement the colours of the cordials themselves, by using 'no-label look' labels from Irish label printers Label Art, who specified a clear-on-clear Fasson self-adhesive film stock from Avery Dennison Roll Materials Europe.

Belvoir Fruit Farms' managing director, Peverel Manners, wanted to achieve a three-dimensional, natural look for the fruits on the cordials' labels.

John Browne, the managing director of Label Art, commented: "We had to supply labels for the Belvoir 'Fruit of the Season' cordial last year, which was Cherry.

To achieve the luscious effect of a fresh cherry in print was quite a challenge.

Choice of printing substrate was critical: we selected Fasson PP Top because it gives high-resolution graphics, coupled with Fasson S4000 super-clear, permanent grade adhesive, and a PET 30 liner to give extra clarity and smoothness to the adhesive wet-out.

That combination gives an excellent no-label look on glass bottles." Label Art printed the labels on its Gallus R200 narrow-web press, in one pass, using seven colours.

Said John Browne: "On a white screen base, we printed four-colour process for the image of the fruit, plus two spot colours (reds), and a gold foil block." The jury for the self-adhesive labels category of the Irish Print Awards, presented the top prize to Label Art for the Belvoir Cherry Cordial labels.

And Belvoir Fruit Farms' Peverel Manners, commented: "Label Art do a grand job for us on the labels for our cordials.

They deserved to win a prize.".
