APN News and Media has gone live with Atex advertising software at its Australian operations.

APN News and Media has gone live with Atex advertising software at its Australian operations.

The Gympie Times and Cooloola Advertiser are the first publications to book and publish their advertising on Atex's centralised system that will ultimately service all 110 of APN's regional newspapers in Australia.

The roll-out of the software is expected to be completed within 12 months, said Atex.

The commissioning of the system to serve the first two titles at APN has been achieved within six months of contract signing through the joint efforts of APN and Atex project teams, added the company.

Nigel Tisdale, APN group projects director, said: "A major factor in our decision was that the new Atex system is a highly efficient multi-media advertising package that has the capacity to provide the flexibility and value-add tools our sales teams need to compete strongly in an increasingly competitive marketplace.

We see it as a system on which we hope to build, enhancing our operations in to the multi-media future.".
