Largest Publishing System In World For Australia
Fairfax Media has contracted with Atex for the delivery of a national multi-media advertising and content management system to service all its Australian operations.
The upgrade to Fairfax Media's current system will consolidate all editorial and advertising systems used at the company in Australia.
The system will encompass nearly 3,500 seats centrally supported from a host in Sydney with business continuance servers at the company's Sydney print site at Chullora.
With 1,500 advertising and 2,000 content management seats, it is believed to be one of the largest centrally hosted publishing systems in the world.
Fairfax Media chief executive officer, David Kirk, said: "With this investment Fairfax Media is positioning itself to be the most efficient and effective digital and multimedia publishers.
This single Atex system facilitates cross media selling and publishing.
It will provide a strong and flexible foundation for our future publishing initiatives." Atex chief executive officer for Asia Pacific, Ross Wood, added: "The latest generation Atex multimedia publishing systems are proven and robust and provide publishers with a host of new sales and operational opportunities.".
