Fast Large Format UV Printer Has 720dpi Printheads

The new Octopus II printer with the latest Konica Minolta 720 dots per inch (dpi) printing heads is said to provide fast productions speeds without loss of quality.

It is now available from Atech, a UK distributor for large format printing and imaging industry that is sole UK distributor for the Octopus range of large format UV printing systems.

The Octopus II is claimed to be able to print to rigid and flexible substrates up to 2,050mm wide and 40mm thick and by replacing the Xaar heads and combining new Konica Minolta 720dpi printing heads with formulated UV inks to get the highest quality results.

Atech said that the Octopus II is assembled from proven components, which results in precise control of output.

It operates through custom-built control software and RIP with CMYK colour management.

The Octopus II can print on to a variety of substrates, including PVC, wood, metal, Plexiglass, ceramics, textiles and cardboard, making it suitable for a selection of indoor and outdoor applications.

They inlcude banners, backlit signage, vehicle graphics and POS displays.

Allan Ashman, a director of Atech, explained: "Not only does the Octopus range have all the quality aspects that is demanded within the industry today but is terrific value for money and, more importantly, gives our customers a fast return on investment.
