Tattile, a global manufacturer of innovative machine vision systems and cameras, has announced the strategic partnership of its subsidiary company AVD Tattile Limited with Mnemonics of New Jersey (USA) The partnership has been established to promote the Mnemonics' AVIA (Automated Visual Information Analysis) leaflet inspection system in Europe and to apply it to intelligent devices for on-line total label inspection

Mnemonics brings to the partnership its AVIA system for full text and graphics verification on printed media up to 122cm x 92cm in size.

AVD Tattile said that the technology is gaining broad acceptance in the pharmaceutical and related industries for verification of printed product leaflets and labels.

AVD Tattile will act as the European distributor for the AVIA product, building on its pharmaceutical experience in Ireland and Tattile Group's experience in the European pharmaceutical industry.

In addition, Mnemonics and AVD Tattile are working together to apply the AVIA software to Tattile intelligent cameras for on-line total inspection of pharmaceutical labels.

The company believes that will provide a solution for those customers wanting to go beyond batch and date inspection to full text and graphics inspection - a long expressed wish by many industries that had no reasonably priced solution to date.

Robert Fenwick-Smith, managing director of Tattile, explained: "Mnemonics has developed unique software for the AVIA system.

Never before could print verification be done to this level." Dr Michael Negin, the founder and president of Mnemonics, commented: "In AVD Tattile we have found the partner we have been seeking to help us take our AVIA system to the European market - the world's largest pharmaceutical inspection sector." Graham Fogarty, president of AVD Tattile Limited, added: "Many of our customers have been asking for automated proofreading.

Now with the Mnemonics' AVIA we can meet their demand.

The potential is overwhelming." Mnemonics, founded in 1979, designs and develops machine vision software.

The markets for its products include semiconductor and printing, microelectronics, biometrics, glass, medical, metals, pharmaceutical, plastics and security.

All Mnemonics software is claimed to be designed to be hardware independent and to be easily applied to any computer platform.

AVD Tattile Limited joined the Tattile Group in 2003.

It is a provider of automated optical inspection (AOI) systems to regulated industries in Europe and is attuned to 21 CFR Part 11 compliant issues required by pharmaceutical and medical device industries.
