Avery Dennison Graphics Division Europe has embarked on an initiative to support its portfolio of self-adhesive and ancillary materials for the graphic arts market with a training programme.

The company said that its programme is intended to help everyone involved in designing, producing, and applying self-adhesive graphics to get better results and save time and money.

For digital printers who want to make the most of their chosen self-adhesive substrates, Avery Dennison Graphics Division has now formulated its Colour Management Workshop, which coincides with the establishment of an on-site ICC profiling service and on-line help on printability issues.

The Colour Management Workshops offer participants are claimed to enhance quality control over their printing results in terms of colour gamut and consistency for a specific printer, RIP, ink range, and print substrate.

They are also intended to provide a better understanding of work-flow and other parameters and their influence on print results with digital.

Other claimed benefits are the savings that can be made in terms of time wasted on 'trial and error' and the ink consumption it involves.

The Colour Management Workshops have already been rolled out in Germany and the company reported that the high support they have received has encouraged it to schedule further workshops in September and October in Germany, England, France and The Netherlands.

Registration, which includes training, refreshments and full course literature, costs between 200 Euros to 300 Euros, depending on location.
