The British Printing Industries Federation (BPIF) has a new feature on its website, dedicated to training.
The BPIF said it will bring employers and trainees together with a valuable new resource that will allow those interested in training to access careers information, the latest vacancies, legislative summaries, case studies and funding opportunities amongst other relevant information.
This area of the website is available to both BPIF members as well as non-members.
The website is part of BPIF Training, the commercial training arm of the BPIF, which is the largest training provider in the sector with access to government funding for modern apprenticeships and adult re-training.
In addition, the website will also feature apprenticeship vacancies with an emphasis on work-based training.
The trainee area will have informative careers pages including interview tips, case studies and industry information, whilst a new area for employers includes pertinent information.
It will include up-to-date legislation relevant to training, employer case studies, local funding opportunities and statistics on the benefits of training.
BPIF Chief Executive Michael Johnson, who has also taken on the role of director of BPIF training said: "The new BPIF training area of the Web site is just one part of our efforts to make the process of training as transparent as possible.
From recruitment and selection through to completion, the training experience for employers should be hassle free and instantly comprehensible.
The website helps with costings, explains training pathways and provides guidance not just at the start of the training process but right through to the end." Coupled with the BPIF's training team, training co-ordinators in the field, the new BPIF training newsletter and the BPIF training telephone help line, there is now a full multi-media support network for employers and trainees, he added.
The website will be regularly updated.
Forthcoming items include guidance on writing your own training needs analysis and articles on developments within the industry, amongst other subjects.
Johnson continued: "No matter what your experience of training, whether you are from a company with a long history of training employees, or an employer with no experience of formally training staff the new website has something for you." BPIF Training works nationally through its team of training co-ordinators, educating and assessing trainees in over 30 different print related competencies.
