Agfa-Gevaert has reached an agreement with Barco to acquire the assets and all staff of Dotrix NV, the Belgian based company that develops, manufactures and sells digital colour printing systems.
Assisting Derek Fearn is Philippe Duval, technical support manager, who will also assume responsibilities for customer training and assist with operations.
Duval previously held senior product and support positions with Agfa in its worldwide headquarters in Belgium and in Wilmington (USA) where his responsibilities included managing engineering quality assurance, customer support and documentation.
"We are open for business in time for Ipex 2006, where we shall be making some significant announcements," said Derek Fearn.
"We are also lucky to have someone of Philippe's knowledge and experience to lead our support organisation in Europe.
He will add a great deal of professionalism and enthusiasm for making sure that our RIP, workflow, colour proofing and other products more than meet customers' expectations, and that we provide the level of support and training for our distribution and OEM partners that will set us apart." The Founder Group, which reported 2003 revenues of US$2.5 billion provides digital cross-media systems for pre-press, printing, publishing, the internet and digital media.
It has its headquarters in Beijing (China) and regional offices in North America and Europe.
