UK retail marketing and POP materials producer, Bezier Group, has appointed Paul Haycock in the new role of corporate social responsibility manager.

Haycock will develop and implement the group's corporate social responsibility (CSR) strategy The company said that as well as working with local communities and suppliers, his focus will be on finding ways that the group can minimise its environmental impact and assist its suppliers and customers to do similar

Described as having a background in environmental chemistry and biofuels, Haycock has joined Bezier from glass packaging producer Rockware Glass where he worked with clients including Coca Cola and Britvic as environmental co-ordinator improving energy efficiency and reducing clients' carbon footprints.

Mark Shaw, chief executive of the Bezier Group, said: "We are determined to make real and quantifiable steps to improve our environmental performance.

By appointing Paul as CSR manager we have a fantastic opportunity to find scientifically valid ways of really making a difference and reducing our own environmental impact and that of our suppliers and clients." Paul Haycock commented: "Too many CSR policies are lightweight, have little impact on communities and the environment and instead act as a marketing tool.

It is great to find a company who is so keen to lead its industry in finding ways of making tangible results.".
