After 120 years of book manufacturing, Biddles has installed its first four-colour B1 Heidelberg Speedmaster 102 press to complement its existing three one-colour and two-colour Speedmasters.

As well as the production of short run integrated colour books, Biddles said it can now offer a complete one-stop shop service to customers with production of covers and colour plate sections being handled in-house.

Biddles' managing director, Rod Willett, said: "This investment is further evidence of our business ethos and demonstrates our commitment to litho book printing.

Our key account management strategy highlighted that there is a demand from our customers for the production of short-run colour books in the UK when quicker turn-arounds are required than can be offered by the Far East.".
