Printer's Award Recognises Environmental Efforts

Recognition of its environmental responsibility efforts has been made to UK independent printer Blackmore by it being highly commended with an environmental and sustainable management award.

Blackmore won the environmental and sustainable management category of the National EAST Journal awards.

The company was one of the short-listed entrants for the awards alongside such large orgnaisations as Citroen UK, Humberside Police, Tescos Stores and BT Group.

EAST (Environmental and Sustainable Technology) Journal is a national online magazine for climate and environmental issues for the public and private sectors.

Nigel Hunt, Blackmore's production director, said: "It is fantastic to receive such a prestigious award especially as we were short-listed alongside some global names.

To be recognised for sustainability, as well as environmental management, proves that our business is committed to initiatives that will last and help sustain our environment not just for today but also for the future too." The company has achieved the dual PEFC and FSC certification as well as the ISO14001 environmental standard that confirms the company fulfills the strict criteria set by those organisations.

Blackmore is a cold set web and promotional printer and is part of the T H Brickell group of companies, which has a combined turnover of GBP12 million and employs 110 staff.
