Print finishers Pro Lam has placed an order for the new Bobst Commercial 106 diecutter, a machine that was launched at Ipex 2006.

Installation of the machine will be timed with a move to new premises, which will more than double the company's shopfloor area.

A Steuer foil blocking machine will also be commissioned at the same time.

Paul Blanksby, Managing Director of Pro Lam, of Rotherham (UK), said: "These investments mean we will be able to further expand our business.

The Bobst Commercial is the final piece of the jigsaw.

We chose the Bobst because the machine has been developed for the commercial print industry and because of the Bobst reputation for quality and service.

Basically there was no other machine for us." Pro Lam and its sister company, Able, specialise in lamination, roller coat UV, spot UV, remoist gumming, diecutting, automatic presentation folder gluing, stitching and a host of hand finishing processes.
