Laminator's Performance Is Key For Print And Pack

The first Asitrade Foliostar sheet-to-sheet laminator in the UK is to be installed by UK print and packaging company Offset Productions Limited (OPL).
The Foliostar from Asitrade A G will be part of a GBP3 million investment programme that includes a six-colour KBA press, along with complementary finishing lines.
OPL chose the Foliostar because of its performance, its build quality and the support provided for its existing diecutting equipment by Bobst Group, of which Asitrade is a part.
The Asitrade Foliostar is a modular line that can be expanded at a later date to include a downstacker and inverter, or it can be converted to a sheet-to-web configuration, said Bobst.
Foliostar is said to be suitable for box plants keen to bring their litho-lamination in house because of its short change-over times and its compression of every sheet prior to shingling, ensuring a uniform bond of every litho sheet to the corrugated carrier.
Foliostar also features a measuring unit, which detects the calliper of the top sheet and substrate, using the data to automatically set the parameters of the line.
OPL managing director, Hugh Jarvis, said: "With this investment programme we plan to substantially expand our share of the UK packaging market.
Our aim is to become the biggest, large-format, litho-laminate packaging supplier in the south east of England." Jarvis added: "We looked at other machines on the market but the build quality of the Asitrade stood out.
This is a key machine for us and we have to be absolutely sure that it will reliably deliver the performance we need.
That's why we chose the Foliostar." Wyatt Birchall, Bobst Group's corrugated business manager for the UK and Ireland, said: "The Foliostar is a super product and one we've been looking forward to for some time.
It features all the usual Asitrade engineering quality and is very sensibly priced.
What Hugh and his team are doing at OPL is very exciting and I'm pleased that Asitrade will be a key part of it.".
