Inkjet System Personalises Direct Mail Pieces

Printegrity is claimed to offer flexibility for targeted and one-to-one marketing with the use of colour printing on to envelopes and a range of other media types.

The inkjet system features the capability to print a range of items, including graphics, barcodes, addresses, time and date stamps, and variable messages, added the company.

Patrick J Donahue, vice president of marketing at Bowe Bell and Howell, said: "Personalisation options are important in making your mailpiece visible.

With the amount of correspondence each of us receives daily, mailers must ensure the recipients receive noticeable, targeted messages to make their communication stand out." With Printegrity, he said that targeted and one-to-one marketing is made easy.

The system can print dynamic or fixed graphics, logos and text to draw attention to the mailpiece by highlighting promotions, specials, and discounts, for instance, using a variety of ink types in multiple colours and pigments.

Another feature of Printegrity is its auto-capping technology, which is said to prevent ink cartridges from drying between uses.

Bryan Frack, product development manager at Bowe Bell and Howell, commented: "What makes Printegrity different from the competition is the cartridge-drying-prevention technology.

Many inkjet systems on the market today require removal of the cartridge following job completion.

By making the auto-capping a standard feature, we simplify the operator's job and ensure the best print quality all the time." With claimed speeds of up to 36,000 envelopes per hour and quick change-over through job-loading features, Printegrity is designed for efficiency.

Its mechanical and software adjustments allow for fast job modifications to keep up with production needs.

Additionally, the system can interface with a range of inserters, or serve as a stand-alone module capable of linking with several input and output options.

The company added that Printegrity supports full integrity tracking features to ensure addresses and personalised messages match the mailpiece.

The vacuum transport system provides material control to provide print quality.
