New Print Buyers To Be Educated At On Demand Show
Aimed at providing people who are new to print buying and printing with a foundation about the industry, the Print Buyer Boot Camp will be staged at the 2008 On Demand Conference and Exposition.
Next year's event will start with a full day of Boot Camp on September 10, followed by the two-day conference on September 11 and 12.
President of Boston Print Buyers, Margie Dana, commented: "We're delighted with the tremendous response we received again this year.
Building on our successes, we're moving to a larger and more centralised venue in downtown Boston for 2008.
Having it in the heart of a world-class city in the gorgeous fall month of September makes our conference more accessible and attractive to our members from around the globe." She added: "We also aim to attract more print buyers from within the city.
According to PIA/GATF, Boston is the third-largest print buying market in the USA.
We're really excited about how this conference is growing and the broader market we're able to serve." One conference delegate, Thomas Caska, the director of commercial production at Vanguard Direct, said: "The information I received in the classes and from the exhibitors was a vault of knowledge, some of which I was sending back to my staff via my Blackberry right from the classes to keep us ahead of the curve.
I look forward to attending next year." Lou Bacon of Magicomm added: "I imagine I was one of the more interested members of this conference as I am new to the business.
I was granted many opportunities to meet with so many terrific individuals who all took such pride in what they did as professionals and shared their knowledge and expertise in their chosen field.
This was a fabulous experience." Meanwhile, Wendy Gloyd of TR Design, explained: "Networking time was great.
I was so excited that this year's format allowed for more time in the expo hall and more time to chat with colleagues and meet new people.
The quality of attendees was superb.
I found myself speaking with lots of different types of people from sales people, to printers and other buyers, whilst having a great time.
It gave me great enthusiasm for the trade.".
