Margie Dana commented: "Every person who is in a position where he, or she needs to work with the commercial printing industry will benefit from the boot camp, including customer service and sales representatives new to the printing industry." She explained that the programme was developed by Print Buyers International last year to give new buyers a basic foundation in working with the printing industry.
Many of the topics presented for the first time at the first boot camp last November will be repeated with a few new topics planned.
The On Demand Conference boot camp will cover an overview of the printing process and a new subject, the positives and negatives of digital printing when compared with offset lithography.
The programme will also explain the Importance of good job specifications, as well as showing how to approve a proof and give press colour approvals, another new topic.
Delegates will also be shown how work amicably with their print suppliers, and where to start when they begin to buy print, as well as providing knowledge about paper.
PBI added that boot camp delegates will receive a guide that includes all of the presentation materials from both of the presenters, as well as a free pass to the On Demand show.
The pass will provide admission to the keynote speaker series, application showcase theatre presentations, and access to the On Demand and XPLOR and AIIM Exposition.
The boot camp programme also includes a guided tour of the exhibition floor led by Margie Dana, who said that she will aim to help delegates to better understand the basic technologies on show.
On Demand Conference and Exposition will take place from March 3 - 6.
