The Annual Technical Update Seminar to be staged by the British Coatings Federation (BCF) will be open to non-members.

The BCF said that the seminars provide a professional insight in to UK and EU legislation and topical technical issues affecting coatings and inks manufacturers.

This year's seminar agenda will include presentations given by experts in their field on topics including environmental permitting in England and Wales, indoor air quality, the Globally Harmonised System of classification and labelling, and fire safety and environmental issues after the Buncefield oil depot explosion in the UK.

Other subjects that will be featured will be the planned revision of the UK's National Emissions Ceilings Directive, how to avoid and deal with flooding, the human factors in health and safety, the Electromagnetic Fields Directive and practical auditing using coatings care.

Companies who supply goods, services and support to the coatings and inks manufacturing industry will also have the opportunity of having exhibition stands and promotional material on display at the event.
