In order to help print companies to increase their business efficiency and profitability, the BAPC has announced a free advice initiative.
New look for printing industry website
The BAPC has upgraded its web site with a total change in its look with greater emphasis on inter-activity.
As such, the company said it has set its sights on targeting the niche sector of the UK print market, which includes the small business user, sole traders and small partnership companies.
Membership of the BAPC, explained Staples' business services manager Nick Johns, is considered vital in increasing the knowledge of Staples' services among small businesses and professional users.
"If we are to truly deliver to our potential, then it is paramount we enhance our credibility and align ourselves to the appropriate professional body within the UK print industry.
Working with the BAPC provides us with a network of connections within the marketplace but this is only part of the benefit.
Crucially, as professional print consultants, their mentoring will aid the strategic development of our copy and print centres through the appropriate training and consultancy, as well as the implementation of benchmarking," he said.
Johns continued: "Our copy and print centre operations are integral to the future growth of the company.
Our aim moving forward is to add to their number, whilst at the same time increasing awareness of the on-demand, high quality print applications we can offer our business customers.
We expect our position as the premier office supplies retailer to be a huge asset in aiding our penetration of the UK copy and print market place." Sidney Bobb, BAPC chairman, added: "The addition of Staples as a member of the BAPC means that we now represent just about everybody offering a high-street presence.
As with our other members, we now look forward to working with Staples to ensure its strategic objectives for the UK marketplace are met." Since the integration with Office World last summer, Staples now operates 140 stores nationwide, with the potential for more over the next three years, making them the largest office supplies retailer in the UK.
