Booklet Maker Produces 1,800 Products Per Hour

Plockmatic has combined its established Plockmatic 60 Binderpro bookletmaker and the Plockmatic 104 Squarefold in to one integrated unit, complete with trolley and stand.

It is claimed to produce A5 and A4 booklets at the rate of 1,800 an hour, and to be able to handle up to 22 sheets of 80gsm paper to make an 88-page book.

Dick Reynolds, managing director of BABS International, which is launching the new Plockmatic Booklet-station in the UK, said: "It's a simple idea, but it works really well.

It gives small to medium sized printers the opportunity to have the two machines in one really smart combination, which can be wheeled to wherever it is needed." He added that the advantage of having the Squarefold, is that it gives added value to booklets and makes them look really professional at a fraction of the cost of perfect bound books.

At the same time, the benefit for the printer is that he or she can take a pile of flat books and edge-trim them in the guillotine, without the pile falling forward.

The list price of the new hand-fed Plockmatic Booklet-station, complete with trolley and stand, is GBP7,645 plus VAT.
