New Press Underblanket Last Longer Than
Packing
Pressroom consumable firm Pressroom Solutions, has launched its Finito universal underblanket designed to last up to six times longer than conventional packing.
Finito replaces old underpacking blankets and calibrated papers, with a material that is said to eliminate all the storage and management problems of conventional underpacking Whilst slightly more expensive than traditional packing, the initial extra cost is a sound investment over a period of time, claimed PFS Pressroom Solutions

Nip Measuring System Enhances Productivity
What is claimed to be the first instrument to measure the contact width (nip) between two rollers, Diginip is now in stock at BFS Pressroom Solutions.
At the same time, Finito also boosts productivity by reducing down time.
The company believes that Finito will change the technological and commercial concept of underpacking blankets.
Using the stick-tear off technology of its 0.05mm polyester self-adhesive films, Finito enables the right thickness to be achieved.
It is installed on the press just like underblankets, or calibrated papers.
The core structure is a modified TPU (thermoplastic polyurethane) used in various thicknesses, calendered to a PES film (polyester).
PES films can also be inserted inside the polymeric master.
Finito is available with, or without, adhesive in all thicknesses and sizes.
Claimed advantages are its high usage flexibility, the stability of the layer during printing runs, long-lasting and solvent resistance.
It is also said to have optimal compression set resistance and optimal rebound properties, which make Finito resistant to mechanical stress, whilst being self-levelling with a high capacity to adapt to the cylinder's profile.
It is also said to provide better uniformity of rule-screening and solids transfer, better slur stability during printing and it is environmentally friendly and fire resistant.
BFS's managing director, Robin Hope, said: "I'm absolutely delighted to unveil Finito.
It's a fantastic product and a welcome addition to our comprehensive range of pressroom products and consumables.".
