Welsh Printing Firm Wins More
Environment Awards
Two awards and being highly commended in a third has seen UK printing company, Cambrian Printers, further endorse its environmental credentials.
The family-owned business has been called a 'green hero' by the Green Organisation and awarded with a Green Shield by Professor David Bellamy following being named as Wales Green Champion in the 2006 Green Apple Awards The Green Organisation is an independent environmental group dedicated to promoting the positive side of environmental endeavour and works across public and private sectors

Cambrian Printers is a company that is an exemplary illustration of how printers can be successful but still work with the environmental as core drive within business'.

Holiday company First Choice has appointed retail media specialist Bezier to handle its in-store print over the next three years.
Bezier's Recycling And Solvent Cuts Win Award
Wakefield (UK) based retail media and in-store print specialist, Bezier, has scooped an award for its help in caring for the environment.
Carrick Wilkie, Cambrian Printers' sales director, commented: "We've worked hard to ensure that our environmental performance is a core part of our business practices, achieving praise from environmental leaders such as the Green Organisation is further justification for our continued efforts in minimising our impact on our local and global environment.
We're also very proud of People in Print award.
Receiving such commendation is fantastic, particularly as we're aware that this category is highly contested within the industry." Cambrian Printers said it has been diligent in ensuring its commitment to the environment and integrating sustainable business practices and holds full complement of accreditations to support its environmental management system.
They include ISO 14001, Chain of Custody from the Forest Stewardship Council and the Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification and Green Dragon Level 5.
The company added that it is the only UK printer to hold all accreditations.
Cambrian Printers was also highly commended in the environmental category of the British Printing Industry Federation (BPIF) excellence awards 2007 for its commitment to environmental sustainability.
Robert Read, Cambrian's chairman and managing director said "We're constantly reviewing our business practices to ensure that we not only remain competitive in the business sense but progressive in our environmental sustainability.
Making a series of small changes to our business, for example introducing a wormery, or implementing a central vacuum system, all adds up to ensure we're taking great steps forwards in our environmental practices.
These accolades have recognised our continued commitment to our environment and ensuring that our ecological footprint, as a business, is minimal.".
