Canon delivers two new high-speed film scanners

Canon Australia today added two new scanners to its range of CCD flatbed film scanners aimed at the digital imaging enthusiast desiring fast, high resolution film and document scanning ? the CanoScan 8000F and the CanoScan 5000F.

Speed and performance are the hallmarks of the two new scanners, with both models utilising a USB 2.0 high-speed interface and offering a resolution output of 2400dpi x 4800dpi with 48-bit colour input and output, a resolution that has previously only been found on high-end scanner models.

?Typically in the past, scanners that have offered a professional quality film scanning output have been targeted at the high-end professional user.

With the launch of the Canoscan 8000F and Canoscan 5000F, consumers now have a choice of two scanners that produce professional quality film and document scans at an affordable price,? said Shannon Tweedie, product manager, consumer imaging products group, Canon Australia.

?Both scanners strengthen an already successful range of film scanners for Canon,? she added.
