On awarding Canon the prize, the judges highlighted the professional quality images the printer produced made possible through Canon's new 12-colour ink set of its Lucia pigment inks, said the company.
The inks are claimed to provide the widest colour gamut in their class and to answer the market's demand for accurate colour reproduction on a variety of media.
The printer, which is aimed at the graphics arts market, is now available across the UK and it was launched to provide the market requirement of colour accuracy and consistency at speed, whilst remaining reliable and user-friendly, according to Canon.
Juan Varela, the president of TIPA commented:"We are pleased to see Canon's high image quality large format printers receive some of the limelight.
This award for Canon highlights its dedication to the market but also its commitment to its customers." Anne Sharp, LFP product marketing manager at Canon UK, said: "Over the last year, Canon has worked hard to distinguish itself as a key player in the large format market and our LFP business has grown across Europe by 45 per cent in the last year alone.
Canon strives to listen to our customers' requirements and deliver products and systems to the market that meet their demands.
We are delighted to have won such a prestigious award.".
