Canon Europe has bolstered its product range in the business systems arena by acquiring a 35 per cent stake in German provider NT-Ware.
NT-Ware provides workflow and business process improvement systems to the printing, manufacturing and retail industries across the EMEA region.
Canon's collaboration with NT-Ware will add significant value to the Canon Business Solutions (CBS) product range, by providing exclusive access to NT-Ware's technology and, by doing so, will create clear competitive advantage, believes the company.
NT-Ware has been a business partner of Canon since 1999 and its scalable Uniflow Output Manager is already being sold by Canon throughout the EMEA region.
Uniflow Output Manager is claimed to enable businesses to manage and control print output and document accountability more effectively.
Its modular nature is said to enable the creation of tailored systems for multiple applications - including accounting, workflow management, printing security and professional printing - for customers of any size - from SMEs to large corporate businesses.
The deal will realise a 70 per cent share holding for Canon over a two year period.
Hajime Tsuruoka, president and chief executive officer of Canon Europe, said: "We look forward to working in partnership with the team at NT-Ware to develop systems that add real value to our customers and further differentiate Canon from its competitors." NT-Ware is based in Bad Iburg (Germany) and has grown to a workforce of 23 highly skilled employees since it was established in 1998.
Karsten Huster, managing director of NT-Ware, added: "Canon is already a strategic business partner and major customer and we look forward to formalising our collaboration with the company.
The company's reputation for technology innovation and huge focus on research and development offers exciting development potential for us and more importantly, promises unrivalled print and document management systems for Canon's customers.".
