Canon UK is staging a promotion aimed predominantly at the photographic market.

Canon is offering a free auto feed roll unit with its Imageprograf iPF5000, worth GBP100.

For businesses with larger output requirements the Imageprograf W6400P will be available for the same price as the Imageprograf iPF5000, which is a saving of GBP200, from September 1 to October 31.

Anne Sharp, product marketing manager for LFP at Canon UK, said: "Our large format printer (LFP) portfolio is growing from strength-to-strength and offers competitively priced printers that provide high quality output without compromising on speed.

High quality prints are paramount for photographers and as the industry moves towards embracing the full benefits of large format, we have designed two packages for customers to ease the transition to large format printing." The Imageprograf iPF5000, is a 17" (A2) 12-colour pigment ink large format printer that is said to provide accurate colour reproduction on a variety of media.

Encompassing a twin print-head design, the Imageprograf iPF5000 is claimed to provide borderless A2 glossy prints in 1.8 minutes.

Additionally, the Imageprograf iPF5000 has been awarded the Technical Image Press Association (TIPA) 2006 award for the best large format printer.

Canon's 24" (A1) compact Imageprograf W6400P is a six-colour pigment ink large format printer with interchangeable black and matte black inks for media flexibility.

With four picolitre droplet size and 1,200 dots per inch (dpi) x 2,400dpi resolution, it produces an A0 print in just two minutes, added the company.

Both the iPF5000 and the W6400P come with 'intuitive' software including Posterartist (poster creation software), Digital Photo Print Professional and an Adobe PhotoShop Plug-In.

The Imgaeprograf iPF5000 will be on show at both Photokina (September 26 - October) in Germany and Digital Print World (October 17 - 19) in London.
