Canon has launched a workflow initiative, the Canon Workflow Program, claimed to allow customers to get an all-encompassing, cohesive package of services, support and systems to make it easier for printers to find the right workflow products for their needs.

It is designed to help support organisations find the right system to increase revenue and business growth, added Canon.

As one part of its overall professional systems strategy to consist of pan-European products and services, as well as new alliance and strategic alliance programmes.

The Workflow Program consists of a portfolio of products designed to assist and enhance the workflow process for professional printers, added Canon.

They include systems that encompass colour management, production workflow and personalised print, which are underpinned by Canon's services and consultancy from Canon's Solutions business consultants.

The programme means that from initial business discussion onwards, customers will get a more bespoke service, consultancy and advice, to ensure they get the correct software, services and support package to suit individual business requirements.

Nikki Richardson, professional solutions marketing manager for Canon Business Solutions at Canon UK, said: "Although this is a fast growing market, research has shown that the main barriers to entry when looking at purchasing a new workflow system include cost and the ability to show a return on investment.

Our new programme has been designed to break down those barriers and aims to educate, advise and support customers on getting the best out of a workflow.

As part of the programme and to ensure customers are getting the best out of their systems, Canon said that it is providing a customer-dedicated service that will offer bespoke professional support and guidance.

There is also a service that offers printers information and strategic advice on how to realise their business goals and additionally there are installation, training and maintenance services that have been structured to support maximum uptime and quality, enabling print businesses to remain profitable.

With a portfolio from Canon and its partners, there are products to match all needs, claimed the company.

Such systems include Digital Store Front from EFI for production workflow, Planetpress from Objectif Lune for personalised print, and Eye One colour management from X-Rite.

Canon's own software range now consists of Uniflow Output Manager, which was recently acquired from NT-Ware, as well as Iw Pre-press Manager and Iw Print Job Manager that amalgamates print job preparation and management of production.

Continued Richardson: "Workflow is the future for European print businesses and an area that cannot be ignored if they want to stay buoyant in an increasingly competitive market.

The time is right for us to now launch the Workflow Programme to ensure the best advice and support is provided in order to guarantee that our customers really do get the best solutions to suit their business needs.
