Canon's Announces New Digital Press Availability
Canon UK showcased a range of technologies and announced the UK availability of the new Imagepress C7000VP during Northprint 07.
Ben Milford, of Canon Business Solutions, said: "Interest in the Imagepress C7000VP has been phenomenal since we previewed it at Ipex last year.
The C7000VP represents a leap in terms of image quality and stability, not only for Canon, but for the wider professional print industry." He added: "It's the perfect system for Canon to grow market share and become leader in the high-end digital colour production market." The Imagepress C7000VP comprises V-Toner, T-Developer and E-Drum in conjunction with an oil-less fusing system, to provide what is claimed to be exceptional print quality that has the look and feel of offset printing.
Canon said that the system, coupled with colour management tools, can provide a true resolution of 1,200 dots per inch (dpi) at speeds of 70 colour pages-per-minute, on to paper stocks up to 300gsm.
Milford added: "Last year, at Ipex, we signalled our intention to become a major player in the professional print arena by previewing the Imagepress systems.
At Northprint, with the announcement of the availability of the Imagepress C7000VP, we are demonstrating that we are resolutely committed to delivering leading digital print systems." And he continued: "The Imagepress C7000VP is the result of significant investment in to ground-breaking technologies by Canon , whose research and development spend is around eight per cent of its non-consolidated sales.
The general availability of the C7000VP in the UK, and continued success of the sister Imagepress C1 mean that the Imagepress brand is going from strength to strength." Canon UK has also released sales figures for its Imagepress C1 short-run production and proofing system, which incorporates much of the Imagepress C7000VP's technology.
