Canon UK staged a series of taster sessions at Northprint for its business development service - the Essential Business Builder Programme.
The three 'taster' sessions were based on a module within the programme and demonstrated the three elements of Canon's Essential Business Builder Programme The workshop sessions comprised the issue of winning and retaining customers, which considered customer expectations and explained how to win and keep customers

In addition, there was a session on government in-plant print management, which advised on how to best manage a CRD within local government, improve profitability, gain more customers and provide a service that is of value to the community.
Canon also presented a workshop on designing for digital printing, which looked at how jobs are constructed in the digital age and considered how to produce digital files correctly and output them easily.
The company said that its Essential Business Builder Programme has been developed since 2003 and has been instrumental in helping print businesses succeed in digital printing.
Canon also announced that it intends to widen the geographical reach of the programme by holding workshops in more cities than before.
Before the end of 2007 workshops will be held at Warrington, Birmingham, London and Canon UK's headquarters in Surrey.
Ben Milford, head of professional at Canon Business Solutions, said: "The sessions were designed to be short but extremely informative and gave Canon customers and potential customers an insight in to the training courses that we offer as part of the Essential Business Builder Programme.
We believe that our business development programme, which has been written by people with many years' experience of working in the print industry, is the most relevant available to printers." And he added: "We expect demand for the programme to increase, which is why we have increased the number of locations that we will hold workshops.".
