Canon's Announces New Digital Press Availability
Canon UK showcased a range of technologies and announced the UK availability of the new Imagepress C7000VP during Northprint 07.
Ashford Press, managing director, Nick Mould, commented, "The imagePRESS C7000VP marks a new era for our company as we look to develop our short-run colour production business, and it also provides us with the ability to target the variable-data printing sector".
"This technology allows us the opportunity to offer something totally different to our customers while opening up new revenue streams for us as a business".
Ashford Press built its business on short-run black and white printing but introduced colour services about two and a half years ago.
"Previously, when dealing with offset printers, companies had to order more colour copies than they needed for the printing job to be cost effective".
"Therefore, customers had to plan promotional materials, such as event programmes, well in advance and excess copies were binned".
"With the new imagePRESS C7000VP, this is a thing of the past and we expect its introduction to lower the cost per unit of colour printing, yielding a higher return on investment for customers, and as a result, bring an increased demand for short run colour work", added Mould.
The imagePRESS C7000VP comprises a number of innovative technologies, including V-Toner, T-Developer and E-Drum in conjunction with an oil-less fusing system, to deliver an exceptional print quality that has the look and feel of litho.
The robust digital engine, coupled with advanced colour management tools can deliver a true resolution of 1,200dpi.
Ben Milford, head of professional print marketing, Canon Business Solutions, UK, said: "Ashford Press already knows the capabilities of the imagePRESS C1 and we are delighted that they are joining us as one of the first UK imagePRESS C7000VP customers, in what is a milestone for Canon's Professional Print services".
"This move reinforces our strong relationship with Ashford Press, one of our longest standing customers, and is testimony to our continued commitment to delivering benchmark solutions to the professional print sector".
