A Canon Europe product story

Canon has reported that it received 16,000 sales leads during the 14-day Drupa 2008 exhibition.

The Canon UK team at Drupa said that it exceeded its revenue target by more than 150 per cent.

In total, more than 160 colour Imagepress machines were sold at the show, exceeding Canon's expectations.

The company added that sales were strong across the full range of its production devices, from the Imagepress C1 for short runs and proofing, up to the Imagepress C7000VP.

Large format printer sales also fared well, according to the company, with particular interest in Canon's CAD printers.

Canon also provided a viewing of its new Imageprograf IPF810 and IPF820 range, together with the Imageprograf 6100.

Per Klavsen, Canon's European corporate and international channel director, commented: "As well as reaching these record breaking sales, it was excellent to see so many of our customers thinking about developing future services through the our Essential Business Builder Programme modules.

We manufacture some very powerful pieces of machinery but the real key to success is knowing how to unlock that power and harness its full potential.

The Essential Business Builder Programme addresses just that." He added: "As always, Drupa was an intensive event but when you come back with great sales figures it is all worth it.

We have already confirmed our attendance for Ipex 2010 as a result of the success at Drupa 2008.".
