Northampton (UK) digital print firm CCS Digital has installed a new Mimaki JV-160s wide format, full solvent press that complements its Mimaki CG-FX cutter and plotter.

Northampton (UK) digital print firm CCS Digital has installed a new Mimaki JV-160s wide format, full solvent press that complements its Mimaki CG-FX cutter and plotter.

The Mimaki JV-160s was a sound investment for CCS Digital, said the company.

Printing at a claimed speed of 430 square feet per hour, the press is said to be the fastest in the industry with no compromise on print clarity as it produces at 540 dots per inch (dpi) x 1,080dpi, added CCS Digital.

Cutting lead times and increasing productivity, CCS Digital said it is now one of a few companies that can fulfil print runs of any size and offer the additional benefit of variable data functions on wide format jobs.

The combination of the staggered, four line head configuration and automatic head height adjustment also allows CCS Digital to print on a wider range of materials, such as gloss vinyl, banners, paper, window graphics and fabrics, whilst the use of full solvent inks extends the life span of material to between five and seven years, added the company.

Those features are complemented by the Mimaki CG-FX cutter and plotter, which provides contour, dye and kiss cutting facilities.

Nathan Watson, large format specialist with CCS Digital, commented: "The decision to upgrade to the Mimaki package was easy.

The press offers us much faster lead times, coupled with exceptional print quality.

As one of the first companies to purchase this press in the UK, this investment has enabled us to stay at the forefront of the digital print industry, allowing us to offer services that are not currently widely available.".
