Cedar Colour has celebrated the beginning of 2007 with a re-branding that has completed a programme of investment The company, based in Chandler's Ford (UK) and employing more than 50 staff, is replacing its cedar tree logo with a new design of colourful arcs inspired by the rings in the tree trunk, said the company, which added that the design signifies the wealth of experience the GBP5m company has built up during 27 years in business

Over the last 18 months Cedar Colour said it has introduced a number of innovations that has enabled it to enhance its' production facilities.

The company has upgraded its entire operation from B2 to B1 capability, a GBP2 million investment that has doubled production capacity.

It has also responded to increased demand by introducing a continental shift system that allows faster turn-around in production by offering 24-hour coverage, six days-a-week.

Cedar Colour has also introduced a range of other developments, including a web-based stock and distribution service that allows clients to view, interact, place orders and call-off products at any time, via its website.

On the technical front, a new PDF workflow system in the pre-press department and a separate and dedicated file copies office are also in place.

The company's clients include businesses such as IBM, Cornhill Allianze and HPB, as well as public bodies including Southampton and New Forest councils and a range of advertising agencies, including Idealogy, Lawtons, Lee Peck Greenfield and Aylesworth Fleming.

Derek Manser, a director of Cedar Colour, said: "After such an exciting period of change, we felt the time was right to update our image to reflect the massive improvements Cedar Colour has made.

It is all to easy to change a logo or send out a brochure, that's how we make a living, but a re-brand has to have a meaning and a story to tell that will significantly change a person's perception of a business.

That's what we aim to achieve with the Cedar Colour re-brand and the message it carries.".
