Creo is field-testing a new version of the Veris proofer with the ability to process third-party PDF and Postscript files.

It will be on show at Drupa 2004.

This new version includes a RIP and provides complete ICC workflow support including spot colour handling.

An extensive set of file formats can be submitted via the new multiple hot folders mechanism and the virtual printer functionality that is integrated into this new version of Veris.

The newly supported file formats include Postscript Level 1, 2, 3; PDF 1.2 - 1.4, x-1.a; DCS Level 1-2; and EPS.

The new Veris version also includes features available in the original version of the Veris, such as queue management, image preview mode, and image layout and manipulation.

Based on the Creo developed Multi-Drop Array inkjet imaging, the Veris proofer produces repeatable proofs that accurately predict the final printed job.

The Creo Certified Process automatically verifies that the proofer's calibration is correct and recent, that the correct colour profile is used, and that the specified ink and media are loaded, to provide the user with a visual assurance of the integrity of the Veris proofing process, said the company.

The Creo stand at Drupa will be in hall 4, stand B10.
