Creo has launched version 2.0 its Six Degrees software, the email-driven productivity program that uses the power of email and puts it to work to deliver critical data in a personalised context.

It is said to automatically connect and display related email messages, files, and people on the desktop so that the user can quickly build, customise and navigate through projects.

Version 2.0 has a new browser-based user interface that delivers ranked search results.

The new full text and advanced search features aid users in quickly finding desired information said Creo.

Six Degrees version 2.0 Personal Edition includes a projects feature, in addition to the new search functions, to-do lists and Quickfilters that capture information in categories including recent messages, frequent contributors and comprehensive summary view.

Version 2.0 Lite Edition is a free, full-features version of the product.

The version 2.0 update and the Six Degrees version 2.0 Lite version can be downloaded at no cost from the Creo web site.

It operates on Windows 2000, XP and Mac OS X and interacts with most popular email clients and in sync with both IMAP and POP mail servers.

It is available in English, French, Italian, German and Spanish.

The $99 Personal Edition offers a number of feature enhancements, such as unlimited projects.

It is available as a free update to version 1.x customers by visiting the Creo web site.

"Six Degrees version 2.0 is a major milestone for the product.

It combines speed and simplicity on the search side with sophisticated project management features, as well as support for a much broader set of mail environments.

It has recently helped me out of a jam by allowing me to go back more than a year and find critical information buried in my email post office," said Kirk Lawrence, director of technical services for Motheral Printing Company, Fort Worth (USA).
