Recycling Guidance For Cellulose Acetate Films
Clarifoil, the makers of cellulose acetate films for carton windows and lamination, have issued a free leaflet answering frequently asked questions about recyclability.
Cellulose acetate biodegradable film manufactured by Clarifoil is available in gloss, semi matt and full matt finishes.
Acetate film is claimed by Clarifoil to have outstanding gloss and transparency and is popular for cosmetics cartons.
Clarifoil's commercial director, Gordon Willins, said: "Acetate films offer unrivalled quality for print lamination and finishing and the combination of the films inherent biodegradability along with the Responsible Print system means that more companies are using and seeing the benefits of acetate film.
This is a very exciting time for Clarifoil." The Responsible Print system is being adopted by numerous companies, according to Clarifoil, one of which is Ecover, a manufacturer of ecological washing and cleaning products.
The company is using the system for printed card fronts for a new range of bulk containers that are to be placed in retail stores for consumers to refill their empty bottles of detergent.
Lena Johansson of Four Corners said: "The printed fronts help sell, display and highlight the refill offering.
The design appearance and lamination quality was, therefore, essential together with print credentials consistent with Ecover's position as a leading environment-conscious manufacturer of ecological cleaning products.".
