High Volume Label Printer Operates At 10" A Second
Citizen Systems Europe has launched a range of printers that are claimed to have been developed to enable high volumes of labels to be printed, quickly, simply and cost effectively.
Meant for use in a range of applications in the healthcare and pharmaceutical sectors, the Aztec and RSS symbology uses symbols to prevent incorrect use of medical products, or dosing of medication to patients.
The Aztec codes, for example, can be used for bar coded identification wristbands and labels in hospitals to improve patient safety at the point of care, enabling the wristband to be matched to the relevant medication, IV mixture, blood products or specimens, said Citizen Systems.
The company added that by comparison with conventional bar codes, the Aztec and RSS symbology enable more detailed information to be printed on to smaller areas.

Barcode Label Printers Have Computer Communication
Barcode label printers from Citizen Systems Europe are now available with a Virtual Communications Port (VCOM) facility.
In turn, however, that requires high levels of printing capabilities to maintain print quality and speed at competitive cost.
To address that need, Citizen Systems said that the latest CLP label printers are capable of producing resolutions of up to 300 dots per inch (dpi) at speeds of four inches per second and can be used as stand-alone or networked devices.
In addition, they incorporate a range of features designed to make them simple to set-up and use.
For example, each printer features an all-metal clamshell mechanism and high-lift print head, making it quick and easy to load and change printer ribbons, whilst a replacement printhead can normally be fitted in less than a minute, claimed the company.
They also incorporate Citizen's active ribbon control and positioning system (ARCP), which maintains a constant tension on the ribbon, regardless of the length used and eliminates the problems of poor print quality caused by ribbons wrinkling or slipping.
The latest machines also feature internal power supplies, standard parallel, serial and USB ports, internal Ethernet options and can be supplied with auto-cutters and label peelers.
They also have full two-year warranties, which are available throughout Europe from the company's network of sales partners and are backed by full technical and spares support. Request a free brochure from Citizen Systems Europe ...
