Indigo Digital Press Record Sales Drive Changes
HP has announced that its Indigo Division has reported a record quarter in driving the transformation from analogue to digital printing.
Using either eight-ink or 12-ink Vivera pigment inks the Z series printers are said to be suitable for pre-press professionals who need to create long-lasting prints and contract proofs with accurate and consistent colours.
The printers will be driven by the GMG RIP software.
It is claimed to be the first digital proofing system with ECI (European Colour initiative) approval.
The central element in GMG software is the 4-D colour transformation engine, which is said to guarantee quality and colour accuracy when producing contract proofs with a variety of output devices.
Designed with the HP Designjet in mind, this version of the GMG RIP is also said to be the most cost-effective proofing system on the market and meets all contract proofing requirements, including colour accuracy and repeatability.
City and West End will also be offering the GMG Dotproof module, worth GBP2,777 free with all HP Z Series printers ordered with GMG Colourproof software.
The module is said to allow users to output colour accurate halftone proofs up to 200 lines per inch (lpi) from contone or 1bit data.
Finally, City and West End will be the first resellers in this market to exhibit the new Quato Intelliproof range of proofing monitors.
Intelliproof displays have been developed with the demands of the graphic arts and pre-press industries in mind, said the company.
The integrated direct USB-hardware calibration adjusts white point, gamma and luminance with 30-bit precision on the Intelliproof 190, 201 and 213 and 42 bit precision on the top of the range Intelliproof 230.
The iColor Display software is claimed to be easy to use.
The software and hardware, combined with the 30-bit colour output, ensures highly precise soft proofs, added the company.
